Though I was disappointed in The Stork Club’s Southington location enough to withdraw my children, my decision to write this review is due to my first (and only) encounter with a corporate representative, VP Amanda Hammons, whose unprofessional and condescending response to my concerns was profoundly unsettling. Given this interaction and the blatant disregard for families and staff, I feel compelled to warn others about this daycare under the current toxic management.
Although the directors have been kind to me, I shared my worries about the alarming turnover rate and poor treatment of staff, issues that have been circulating within the community for years and have worsened recently. Rather than responding professionally, Amanda attempted to belittle my experience, dismissed any feedback, lied to me directly, and disparaged a former employee. She made it clear that even in speaking to a paying customer, she lacked the maturity to hear constructive criticism or be respectful, exemplifying the very management problems I expressed.
While there are exceptional teachers who I am deeply saddened to leave, my troubling conversation with Amanda confirmed that leaving after a year and a half of trusting this center with my children—ultimately supporting her family’s business—was the right decision. It’s my hope that they address these issues and foster a more respectful culture. Until then, I cannot recommend The Stork Club of Southington.
My Son is at this school for 6 months and he is always happy and arrives always very clean. The employees are very nice and attentive to the chindren. I sincerely recommend.
It has been 2 years since my girls have gone there and I must say...I miss it! The daycare we are at today it nothing compared to the stork club. I really love the outdoor play, art and teachers who took such good care of my little ones. :)
