Bais Medrash of Westgate is mamash one of those places where you walk in “just for a quick Mincha” and somehow you’re still there later like, “Nu… maybe I’ll just stay for Maariv… and maybe a little learning… and maybe a coffee… and maybe I basically moved in.”
First of all, the aron kodesh is a whole inyan. It’s not just nice — it’s kavod haTorah with a capital K. You look up and you automatically straighten your hat (even if you’re not wearing one). The room has that classic, warm, heimish beis medrash feel: wood, marble vibe, good lighting, and tables that are clearly used for real avodah — not just for show. You can tell people there actually learn, not just “hold a sefer and look frum for five minutes.”
And the best part? Open 24 hours. Which in Lakewood terms means: if you’re having a rough day, a late-night coffee, a random “I need to clear my head,” or you just suddenly got a chashivus to learn at 1:17 AM — Westgate is like, “Shalom aleichem, come in, we were waiting for you.” It’s basically the Hatzolah of beis medrash options.
The vibe is super yeshivish, super normal, super welcoming. Nobody’s giving you the “who are you” look. You walk in and it’s like you’ve been there forever. You’ll find guys shteiging, guys davening with kavanah, and guys doing that classic Lakewood move: learning seriously… while also somehow discussing where the best kugel in town is between the lines of Tosfos.
It’s also clean and organized, which honestly deserves its own bracha. You don’t feel like you need to do bedikas chametz on your chair before sitting down. Everything feels taken care of, and it makes it easy to focus.
Bottom line: Bais Medrash of Westgate is a real metziah — whether you’re coming for a steady minyan, a quiet corner to shteig, or you just need a מקום that feels like home at any hour. 5 stars all day. If Google let me, I’d leave 6… but they’re being very stingy with the stars, nu.
Nice big place for prayer and study. Limited parking. Across from Westgate shopping center.
So many different prayer rooms to choose from. They were very welcoming and friendly. We'll definitely come back to pray here again sometime
Did a seminar there. Great location, oweners were responded w ell with any issues. Do need better parking.
Lovely kehilla, bais medrash to suit - building owner needs to expand ASAP, as it is currently too small to accomodate the many misapalelim and potential mispalelim.
