The Grinch is watching over us
Great place to rendezvous and take a private boat with friends 🧡
Such a great experience! Owners generously donated two days rental to our school PTO which thankfully we won in a raffle but regardless the price is very reasonable for your own private boat. It is extremely simple to operate, came full of gas, included new life jackets and no license was required. Boats were very clean and had pop up canopies for shade. We cruised around both the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers. We fished, crabbed, watched bald eagles, dolphins and osprey. With their boats you are able to dock and dine at numerous restaurants. We ended up at the Sea Farer and Eventide but theres many more places to choose from. There's numerous places to pull up and relax on private beaches and jump from a rope swing! The kids and adults loved it. Such a great time and the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly. Can't believe I lived here so long and just discovered this place. It's a perfect day for hosting out of town friends/family for a day. Hope to do this more next summer!
The Captain's Cove marina is very cool!! That's there office in the picture. It overlooks the river and Sandy Hook. There's not much in the marina right now but a few working boats and a couple of A frame barges for pile driving, the marina itself looks like it could use a good dredging.
