Closets by Design - North New Jersey

The installation made innumerable gouges in our newly done hardwood floors that were 24 hours old. We counted 51 in total. Horrific for brand new floors. The installer had planned to come back the next day because the job was not yet completed. He never arrived and there was no communication from the office about this or when we would reschedule.

We recently had 5 closets done by Closets by Design, and I can't recommend them enough! We worked with Amanda, who was incredibly patient with us throughout the process. She thoughtfully designed each closet, helping us decide what would work best for each space, and accommodated some funky spaces and measurements. She was flexible in adjusting the designs as needed and ensured we were happy with the final result.

Build day was a total breeze thanks to Hector. He installed the 5 closets within 3 hours! It was incredible. He was beyond friendly and professional, and took lots of care to clean up, which allowed me to immediately start organizing and putting things away after each closet was done! There were no issues or hiccups on build day, but made sure to keep me informed each step of the way.

The quality of the product is top tier. Each closet feels solid and feels like it will stand the test of time. I wish we had more closets to do just so we could work with them again! I highly recommend Amanda and the team at Closets by Design North New Jersey!

I recently worked with Closets by Design and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The design process took several weeks, during which I met with the salesperson multiple times for measurements and finalized plans. I clearly explained the color scheme in my home and the type of knobs I wanted. The showroom offered very little to see in person, so I had to rely mostly on Instagram for ideas.

After I paid the deposit, the salesperson quickly rushed me into an installation date within three weeks, without notifying me that certain items would not be available. My installation ended up dragging on for over a month. Some closet pieces and the built-in were installed, but not everything. To make matters worse, the color scheme was incorrect despite my clear instructions.

Although the company eventually agreed to change out the closet pulls, they never replaced the support hooks, leaving me to purchase replacements myself. Overall, the process felt disorganized and unnecessarily drawn out. By comparison, I previously worked with Tailored Living and found their process to be far smoother, their showroom more robust, and their attention to detail much stronger.

While the final product is about 80% satisfactory, the overall experience left me frustrated. Between the delays, miscommunication, and mistakes, I cannot recommend Closets by Design and would not use them again.

Worked with Amanda over a 2yr period to create a perfect solution for my guest room / study / gym / everything room. Her patience during my decision process, the timeliness and communication once we had decided to proceed, the installation experience - it was all simply quite exceptional.

We had an awesome experience with Amanda and the install team at closets by design. We upgraded a small walk-in primary closet and were able to get meaningfully more storage. The unit looks great and feels very sturdy. Communication with Amanda was super easy and the installation was painless. I’d definitely recommend and will likely come back for additional spaces.
