I’ve been receiving my haircut from this establishment for about 3 years now and I’ve always walked out with a better hair style. I’ve initially started coming here when I needed a specialist to maintain my hair when it was longer and Anita has been doing a wonderful job for me every single time. I eventually wanted to change it up and she’s been doing just as good a job cutting my hair short.

Everyone here is so friendly, welcoming, and they know you by name. They make you feel like a family, and the staff themselves just have that family vibe which is a wonderful thing.

I used to make the trip locally from Toms River, but because I was so satisfied with the service I have been willing to drive out of my way all the way from Lakewood just to only get my haircut done at Sophia’s Roots. Highly recommended.

I love Sophias Roots! I have been going there for over a year now and could not be more pleased! They took the time to educate me the first time I went there with high expectations for becoming a blonde overnight from my years and years of damaged box dyed black hair and explained to me the process of getting the blonde that I wanted. Every time I went there they knew my goal was to be as blonde as I can be and I can say that I am so happy with my results! I saw Chloe the first time and then saw Anita and she has worked wonders on my hair. I love everybody who works there, they are all up to date on the latest styles and treat all of their clients like family. Being a full time working mom of 2 it is hard for me to find time to get my hair done and to take the time for myself and just today I made the decision to go back to dark hair and Jackie was able to get me in right away to accommodate my crazy schedule. I will never go anywhere else to get my hair done they are my forever stylists, no more box dye for this girl =)

BEST HAIR STYLISTS! HANDS DOWN! I've been a loyal client for years now. They're always up to date on the latest fashion trends and are very patient. I always leave extremely satisfied. Not to mention, all the comments people (even strangers) give me on my hair! And they are very knowledgeable about Kevin Murphy products and will recommend the best stuff for your hair type. I used to have very dry hair until they guided me to the right serums. Now my hair is thick and voluminous! Absolutely love them. If you're looking for hairstylists, I highly recommend coming here.

Happy to finally find a down-to-earth modern salon to call home. I've seen Jen & Nicole & they are both talented & listen to what you want. Nicole is the only person I'll allow to touch my eyebrows now! I recently purchased one of their Kevin Murphy products & love it too.

I've been with Sophia 'Pre' Roots and I am loyal to the leader of the team - Sophia. She took her talent and opened her own business - staying true to her work values and desire to provide first class service on a broader scale and she not only has accomplished what she set out to do, but exceeded it. She works with each client individually; getting to know them, understand what they are looking for in a look and style, she will then provide guidance from her expertise to give options for those who are looking for a change and she always hits a home run. Her sense of color and style and texture are innate. Sophia and her team also take advantage of continuing education within their trade - always learning something new. They also give back by teaching their clientele their new tricks so that we all can maintain the look (as best we can) when we leave the salon. Having been fortunate enough to have my hair styled in New York City at an internationally known salon, I always felt that I could not duplicate that experience at a local place. But I have found that in Sophia and her team ... I have since moved away - 100 miles away - and I still get my hair styled by Sophia. She's that good.
