Just started learning how to fish recently. This is the perfect place to start off until you go to the larger lakes, get a permit, etc. Some days there are fish closer to the surface, other days they are at the bottom. There are really only 4 species (Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, and Bluegill.) My concern is that while you are walking down, you start seeing poison ivy and thorns. I recommend staying away from any sort of plants. Other than that, I love this place and come here every week!

County park!! Huh. It’s a tiny green area with small parking. No rest rooms. No place to sit. Even the gate at the entrance is closed and you have to go around it. The water is dirty and smelly most of the time. Just know this before you visit so you don’t get disappointed.

Interesting area, lots of history. Beautiful birds like kingfishers and herons. Fun fishing spot close to home.

I'm certainly bummed that the building was inaccessible as many abandon buildings left untouched offer insight and historical appreciation for what was left. The building itself appears in fair condition and has plans to become a county park with an unknown date of development. I can't wait until it opens up. At the moment, there are four historical information boards and several no trespassing signs.
