Cozy place, old school diner look, the burgers are awesome, simple but delicious recipe. Good price for the product
White Mana Diner is a real gem on Tonnelle Avenue — the kind of spot that reminds you why classic diners never go out of style. The building itself, with its vintage architecture, instantly gives off a nostalgic charm. Inside, it’s cozy and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The burgers are simple but satisfying, cooked fresh right in front of you, and at around $10 for a full meal, it’s an unbeatable deal these days. While the patties could’ve been a bit more well-done, the quick service, great prices, and authentic old-school atmosphere make it a place I’ll definitely be stopping by again.
I have heard about this place for well over a decade and finally was in the area with time to stop. The lore of this place had me hyped up but I left disappointed.
The inside was pretty rad, if you’re into nostalgic places, which I am, then I highly recommend it. Looks like they have change a thing in the interior on 50 years. In a cool way.
The staff was nice enough and took less than 5 minutes to get my food. On the major plus side it was priced well. It was $10 with tax for 3 cheeseburger sliders with a drink and fries. Then amount of fries was generous, too.
However, the burgers left something to be desired. The fries and burgers reminded me of McDonald’s sadly. A completely forgettable meal taste wise, which was frustrating after seeing so many good things about it, especially from the late Anthony Bourdain.
I would go again to see if perhaps it was just a bad day for them or something and give them another shot but this meal was more of a 6/10.
There are simply many other burger options that are better. Here’s hoping I have a better experience next time I visit.
I wanted to like it.
White Manna is an absolute classic! This place is old-school in the best way possible, no frills, just amazing burgers cooked right in front of you. The flavor, the atmosphere, the nostalgia, everything about it is perfect. You can taste the history in every bite. The sliders are juicy, the onions are just right, and the whole experience feels like stepping back in time. I’ve been to plenty of burger spots, but nothing hits quite like White Manna. I love White Mana!
White Mana Diner in Jersey City is a beloved, no-frills institution that has been serving up classic diner fare for decades. Known for its old-school charm, this small, retro-style diner has earned a loyal following, especially for its famous slider burgers. The burgers are bite-sized but packed with flavor—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served with a soft, lightly toasted bun.
The french fries are crispy and golden, a great side to accompany the burgers, and the milkshakes are thick and creamy, providing a nostalgic treat. The menu offers classic diner options like breakfast plates, club sandwiches, and omelettes, all prepared simply but well.
The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, with a counter-style setup where you can enjoy your meal while chatting with friendly staff or other patrons. It’s a bit of a dive, but that’s part of its charm—there’s no pretension, just good, honest comfort food.

While the diner is cash-only, it’s well worth a visit for those in the area or anyone looking for a taste of Jersey City’s diner history.
