The best jerk chicken I've ever had. I'm from the UK where jerk chicken is done pretty well in most cities but I would move to Staten Island just for Blaze! The chef/owner was very welcoming and friendly too. The portion sizes are very generous and the prices are ridiculously low for the quality and quantity of the food. A great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Caribbean/Jamaican food. 10/10.
Amazing! Blaze is a short walk from the SI Ferry. We vacationed in Jamaica 20+ years ago, and have searched for authentic jerk ever since. Found! What a hidden jewel!!! Owner/chef was so kind! Wonderful service, amazing food-had the jerk salmon dinner, mac-n-chs with bread fritter as an app. Bonus: also served homemade grape nuts ice cream!!
First time here. The environment is amazing!!! Laid back and relaxing!!! The people working here are amazing also!!! They was down to earth, extra friendly and very nice!!! (Words can’t explain the people working here!! 100) the food was next level amazing as well!!! Worth every single penny spent!!! Photo attached is the blazed oxtails with rice!!! 😋😋
I always like to try new places in the area. I admire when a new venture is explored. This place is located near the ferry which is good. It definitely has the right idea! If you’ve ever been to Jamaica you know the food is fresh and you’ve got to wait. So please know it is the same here. Food is fresh, tasty and shrimps were fresh. I ordered the shrimp curry which was a great version! I also ordered the salt fish fritters. Everything was really good. The prices are a bit high but so is the price of food. It’s a great addition to Staten Island! So if you’re in the mood for some Jamaican food I would say yes try it and see!
First let me say, we were so excited when we discovered that Blaze had a bar and grill. This is our reliable go to spot. The appitizers are 💯 AMAZING!!! The acki and salt fish egg rolls, I want to eat those for the rest of my life. And those Crab cakes, Im still trying to figure out how all that flavor worked its way into those cakes. Finally, the Blaze Punch was 🔥🔥🔥.
As for the actual bruch meal itself.... Im going to hold my opinion on that one because the appitizers and drinks were so good.
