We stopped by BreadsNBakes in Pound Ridge for some pastries and a simple question — did they sell King Arthur or another high-quality flour for a sourdough starter? Kate not only took the time to chat with us, but actually disappeared into the back for several minutes and returned with a container of starter for us to take home. She treated it like no big deal, but to us it was such a kind and thoughtful gesture — the sort of small-town generosity you don’t often find in larger cities. Kate went above and beyond, and we left not only with a starter, but with a big smile and a genuine appreciation for her warmth.

My friend recommended this spot to me so I hightailed it with my parents to try. My gosh, everything is delicious. Classic, fluffy, fresh, homemade, still-warm cinnamon rolls, oatmeal cookies, baguettes, ciabattas, brownies and more. Great mozzarella sandwich, brie and fig sandwich, sweet potato-carrot soup. Already can’t wait to come back.

The danish is delicious. It doesn’t over use butter but is so crispy and flavorful. The store super clean and you can see the kitchen from glass windows

Warning: once you visit you might become a regular! 😂 The baked goods are exquisite!! Our favorite was the donut with cream filling (I’m still dreaming of it days later it’s that good!). We also enjoyed a tart and cookie and a chai latte - all very good.

The ambience is cozy and the space is beautiful and clean. The owners and workers are so friendly you feel right at home. I can’t wait to come back in warmer weather and enjoy the plentiful outdoor seating as well as the beautiful indoor seating. We also snagged a fresh loaf of bread for home! Lots of sweet local shops along the street to explore with your beverage and treats in tow.
