My friend & I tried this based only on the reviews which, for the most part, were very good.
As I like to say..I don’t care the price but it’d better be excellent.
This is a complete dichotomy to “excellent”.
We ordered the pork fried dumplings & crab rangoons as appetizers.
The dumplings were good (although I’d never order them again). IMO..they weren’t fresh but instead seemed as though they were cooked earlier & then reheated. The crab rangoons were more “rangoon” than crab. There was a smidgeon of the cream cheese mixture inside …a very small amount despite the size of the rangoon.
I had the roast pork with broccoli. Many pieces of broccoli (why the hard stems on broccoli ?? ….I don’t know why they weren’t cut off ..the only thing I can think of is they’re left like that to have the dish look like it’s a nice sized meal but it’s only “filler”) and a less amount of roast pork. The roast pork was okay. Nothing to rave about.
My friend ordered the beef in oyster sauce. We had to check the menu as we had no idea what it was. I’ve ordered this dish innumerable times in my life & it’s never ever looked like this. If this was beef ..it didn’t look like it. It had a look as if barely cooked ..not the rich color of beef that’s the norm for this dish. She tried it; I tried it. Absolutely disgusting.
This will sound biased but I’d love to know the ages of those who write these reviews. Are they so young & unaware and they’ve never experienced really wonderful Chinese cuisine?
Are they used to the quality of fast food so this cuisine is “spectacular” to them?
Have they ever enjoyed fine dining? I think not.
I’ll never order from this restaurant ever again.
Once was more than enough.
It’s always been a fairly good experience.
I’ve stayed away from any meals that contain shrimp - it is always rubbery and overcooked.
Otherwise, the standard food.
The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare Chinese cuisine. They have several tables for dining in but no servers. Customers also have the option of family dinner deals and coupons when customers spend $20, $35 and $45. The restaurant also speaks Spanish. I ordered a family dinner deal that included two wonton soups, shrimp with garlic sauce-pint, vegetable lo mein-pint, chicken with broccoli-pint, sweet and sour chicken-pint and crab rangoon appetizer-6 pieces. The was good and well-priced. Friendly and helpful staff.
Ordered delivery based on previous reviews and wow....you guys either just lie or this place went downhill. My first time and I got the eggplant in garlic "sauce" 😂 that's not sauce, that was straight Oil!! 🤢 Threw that out. LoMein? Definitely not from that day, those noodles were old. Threw them out. The actual food I got? Burnt. Gross. Oily. Greasy. If that's how you like your Chinese food, by all means go here. I was sick so I threw it out. Only good thing is their chicken wings. Those were decent.
There are a ton of Chinese restaurants in the area, but this is the only one who does everything RIGHT.
Lo main on point with lots of ingredients. Chicken and Broccoli with a sauce that is to die for. Dumplings not overly cooked and full of flavor. Fried rice cooked right with great flavor and also that isn't yellow (I don't know why there are so many places around here with yellow fried rice). Soups with actual flavor and not just fake stock.
and it is all FRESH!!! All the ingredients you can tell are fresh and cooked the right way. When you have so many options of these classic dishes, you should eat from a place that just does it right. This is that place.
