Peaceful tribute with iconic symbolism
Strawberry Fields is a memorial to John Lennon, located near West 72nd Street. The area features the famous “Imagine” mosaic, surrounded by trees and flowers, creating a serene, contemplative atmosphere.
It’s a popular spot for both fans and casual visitors, often accompanied by musicians playing nearby, which adds to the reflective yet lively ambiance. The space is accessible and easy to explore, and it’s a must-see for anyone interested in music history and Central Park culture.
Nice area to sit and enjoy the weather. There’s usually people singing Beatles songs too.
You do not have to be a Beatles fan to enjoy it.
But you must know the story. That it is in memory of John Lennon who was assassinated in front of his home, at the Dakota building.
At the Imagine at a weekday the infamous singers were singing Beatles and John Lennin songs.
It has a special ambient, I am very lucky I could visit it.
Bitter sweet being here. Weather was nice, visited in March. Pretty busy. Had live music, danced around and met a lot of Beatle people. Plenty of seating. I would spend all day here if I could. Drug the whole family with me. RIP John Winston Ono Lennon.
It is an emblematic place where many people spend a moment thinking about John Lennon and his legacy, some leave flowers, letters, among others. A very nice place to meditate and think about the beautiful things in life. Recommendable.
