Located on a peninsula where the Neversink and Delaware Rivers meet, it extends just long enough to cross the border into New Jersey and since the Delaware is the border with Pennsylvania, this is where you will find the Tri-States Memorial.
But before you get to that, you'll get to appreciate a walk through this beautiful cemetery that is in excellent condition. Still green at this time of the year, the lanes through follow a loop so you'll go in through one entrance and exit through the other. Along the way, Congressman William Stiles Bennet (serving from 1905 to 1911), Congressman Francis Marvin (serving 1893-1895) and Congressman Charles St. John (serving from 1871 to 1875).
Walk. Don't drive the path. Imagine a Brahms or Dvorak string piece somewhere in the back of your mind. Contemplate the stones, the names and the lives of the people who had the good taste to make this wooded peninsula their final resting place. Rain, Sun, a bridge, the proximity of borders and kids tubing all the while add to the experience which culminates with the convergence of two rivers.
Took a walk through here to get to the tri state’s monument. Nice place and surrounds
Amazing adventure . You have to go thru the enterance of the Cemetery Seeing some very old stones. It has spirts there 😇 At the end of the road your see Interstate 84 (N & E ) above you. A small parking area at the bottom of the rock near the Deleware water is a Monument. The TriState Monument is where you can stand in 3 different states at the same time. Port Jervis N.Y. nearest you. TO THE WATER SIDE : Left is NJ & Right is Pa.
