New York Surf School

I had an awesome time surfing with NY Surf School. All of the instructors are experienced, patient, and work together as a team to make sure everyone has fun. Amanda was encouraging, energetic and knowledgeable. I’m so impressed with the system they have set up that made me feel safe and confident. I can’t wait to go back again.

New York Surf School is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and supported. Kwame brings such great energy, patience, expertise and a really calm and chill demeanor—he makes learning to surf not only safe but truly fun. Amanda is equally amazing, with her encouraging style and thoughtful guidance that helps you gain confidence in the water.

I took private lessons with each of them and cannot decide who I enjoy working with more. They both helped me level up my skills. The whole vibe is positive, inclusive, and all about sharing the joy of surfing. I can’t recommend them enough!!

New York Surf School is the best! Kwame is an incredible instructor — patient, knowledgeable, and super encouraging. He makes learning to surf fun and approachable, while also keeping it safe and supportive. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students’ progress and joy in the water. I left my lesson more confident than ever and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to surf for the longest and I picked the right place to try it out for the first time! My husband and I loved it. Taking a lesson was my idea and I wasn't sure if he'd enjoy it as much but he did! Kwame and Frank were awesome and I'd recommend NYC Surf School to anyone. Such great instruction and honestly a great beach too! We'll be back next year!!

Really enjoyed ourselves. Had some great clear instruction, and all four of our group were standing up catching some waves by the end of the session! Defo would come again to get some more tuition to get better. Big shout out to Andrew who really helped in the water with wave selection, much needed boosts and making sure our group knew what we needed to do to improve. Thoroughly positive experience.
