My family is very grateful for the care, professionalism and kindness we received at Oyster Bay Funeral Home. During the painful time following my mother's sudden passing, Funeral Director Melissa Schmidt handled everything with gentleness and grace. We highly recommend them and their beautiful setting.

I find myself searching for superlatives to express the full range of compassionate service and attention to detail given so elegantly by Melissa Schmidt, Funeral Director of the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. She worked with sincere compassion and understanding to help me and my two daughters navigate the process of mourning the loss of my beloved wife of fifty-one years, Seija-Leena Tiussa Yokum. She personally took charge of moving her from the hospital to the Home. And then, after arranging for a private viewing in the chapel that provided the space in which we could grieve and say goodbye, Melissa accompanied her to the crematory and made certain all went as it should.

Oyster Bay Funeral Home staff was amazing in every way from planning my father’s funeral right up to the casket being at his final resting place at the cemetery. Louis gave us great comfort and advice throughout the entire process. Lou paid attention to every detail in amazing fashion. Arranging the Fireman’s service and the Military service that truly touched our hearts. My father would have been proud of the tribute he received. I have known Lou since we were children. I truly believe it’s not just business for Lou he truly cares about what he does. Throughout the entire service he absolutely exceeded my expectations! I have the upmost respect for Lou and his staff.

My family and I cannot fully express our gratitude to Lou and Melissa for helping us through this difficult time. Our brother passed suddenly in another state and Lou and Melissa were able to take care of all the arrangements of dealing with the body and preparing it for us to transport it back home. We were able to meet with him and Melissa and have all the arrangements taken care of for a remembrance ceremony. The arrangements were perfect and we cannot thank Oyster Bay Funeral Home for going the extra distance for us.

We're all going to die one day but when we lost our loved one how can we accept it. My aunt passed away and she left beautiful memories for the family that still on earth. The event is at evening, the funeral home team is organizing very well and professional. Next morning, we went to church and buried her at cemetery. The organize lady went with us and prepare the details in every step until the end of event.
