Lovely church in the heart of East Islip.
Grew up in this Parrish and still visit they just did a great job for my uncles funeral mass. Thank you St Mary’s !
I cannot understand the Catholic church preaching Bible and Jesus but when a poor man comes to you and asks for help on a Sunday and you say come back tomorrow nothing I can do for you at all today in the rain sleeping on the street it's discouraging to say the least. "We don't hand out money" which isn't what I was looking for but you sure enough take it every Sunday and day in-between. I'm not mad or bashing I'll just pray for you. Only reason 2 star is because a man had a good heart before I left. Gave me a tenner so I didn't have to beg in public.
They only give food to families once a month. Other churches give once a week. Shame because I donate back when I'm working.
Peaceful and friendly. A real place to relax rest and clear your thoughts.
