South Haven School

Both of my grandchildren ages 6 and 4 have attended the Pre-K program at the South Haven School. So far it is an amazing Pre-K program! I was so surprised as to how much they progressed at 4...their Birthdays are mid Sept. so they actually started at 3. Both had pre-school experience. I worked in a fine elementary school as Principal's Secretary for 3 yrs, then in school district administration for 14.. so I have a little school business experience.

I was nervous and had no idea and did not know anything about South Country S.D. when kids started..It's a small school..However,I have found it to be the most well run and with loving caring director, teachers and staff and Principal and aides, and security, gym teacher, maintenance staff and all employees!! I dont understand why 3/5 rating and also kids given with breakfast/lunch options as well...as my grandkids are very picky eaters..but they are introduced to different foods if they see their friends try..they might too! That program we did not have 20 yrs ago where I worked in my former district.

The care that all of the staff gives to each child is admirable..they know all the kids and parents and grandparents!

The activities and all of the PTA book and holiday fundraisers were wonderful..Most fun was field Day and tug of war, where parents were invited and Mr Softee! The property is immaculate..and kids see "reindeers" in the fields..never saw a deer in my life til I moved to Suffolk County! The graduation ceremony was so well planned..just touched my ♥. ..Great great job South Haven!

First grandchild was only PT 3 hrs a day..and excelled..Then 2nd grandchild we entrusted FT pre-k to our dearly loved teacher, Miss Jenna..We were nervous, but he has done so well! I guess, he learned the routine from his older sibling! I see his progression as I am fortunate enough to spend time with him to read and write!

And yesterday was festive and Happy with Chuck E Cheese singing and dancing in parking lot at dismissal sponsored by SEPTA!

So my opinion may count or not..But I give a South Haven School a 5 star review bc working with elementary teachers and staff, I know how physically and mentally challenging is is to take of YOUR children and appease us all as parents! We tend to be all to critical..Kind Regards!

Excellent, small school with wonderful teachers and staff. The counselor is amazing and the teachers are dedicated. It is best to contact school by email, otherwise the phone must go through another school in which there is an obvious delay.
