Small hilly park overlooking the Narrows.
Ideal for a quiet, contemplative walk.
It’s a pretty good park for leisure, but lacks some basic park amenities for instance water fountain, restrooms etc. Other then that it’s very nice park with pristine bay view, in evenings lighted Verazzano bridge in evenings makes it picture perfect from hilltop point.
This was my first time going to this park with a few people. I was supposed to go to fort Wadsworth to take pictures. We drove around the area for a few minutes but the people that took me there didn't know what to do. 😐 This place is next to the base or connected to it. It's a great park for its open space, but it was a little muddy because it just rained there. We did a little walk around and I did take some pictures. I did see two nice views of the Verrazano bridge and the whole ocean. I didn't see any bathrooms yet but I'm pretty sure there is. It is a breeze to walk in this area but it's just not the best time right now. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just the way I experienced it. 😊👍 Maybe I'll come back when it's snowing or when the sun is shining 🌞.
This park was so nice and we learned a lot. It has a memorial for 911 which there’s one in every borough of NYC and in the spring the trees bloom white flowers which we can’t wait to see. So many beautiful dogs and the owners were super friendly. We don’t have a dog but we adore dogs. I don’t notice bathrooms and it wasn’t too big. The view of the Verrazano bridge was cool to see & take pictures. We had a lot of fun here, in such a short amount of time.
A 12 acre park situated on the eastern shore of Staten Island adjacent to Ft. Wadsworth. Rolling hills with lush greenery that needs a trim. Many benches along the paths. Ideal for dog walkers and on any given day you can see multiple people jogging / walking the terrain. At the top of the park is spectacular views of New York Harbor. The perfect park for sledding in the wintertime.
