Vanessa & Jane at Abbey Road FC never fail to deliver top caregivers to assist my mother with daily activities. They are easy to communicate with and real problem solvers but the best part is that they care and put their action behind that caring!

I started working with Abbey Road more than a year and a half ago after my 94-year-old mom had a stroke and it became clear that she could no longer live alone at home. I wanted to keep my mom at home and not put her in a nursing home. A live-in caregiver was required.

I met the owners of the company and discussed the situation with them. After trying out one caregiver who was not a good match, they introduced us to a wonderful caregiver who immediately fit right in. This was no small thing. My mother has dementia and is extremely strong willed. She had lived alone for fifty years. It was a massive change for her to have someone living in her home. She was difficult at first and put up quite a bit of resistance, but the caregiver handled my mom well. The caregiver is cheerful, positive, has a sense of humor, and has a great attitude. Her feathers are not easily ruffled.

We’re in a good place now. In the year and a half since this caregiver has been caring for my mom, the issues I faced pre-Abbey Road have stopped. My mother no longer falls. That was the major concern. My mother is now 96. She’s safe, healthy and, incredibly, has accepted someone living in her home.

My mom’s caregiver makes sure my mom takes her medication. She does some light yoga with her, walks my mom up and down the driveway, helps her bathe, helps make her bed, etc. She’s developed a good relationship with my mom. The caregiver sends me a great text update at the end of each day filling me in on what happened that day.

Knowing that this terrific caregiver lives in my mom’s house now gives me peace of mind. What the next months (or years!) will bring is unknown, but for now, I know that my mom is safe.
