Beautiful library with a wide selection of books and friendly librarians. They offer seating areas throughout the library for you to sit and enjoy reading a book. It would be ideal if doors were added to the children's area to keep the noise from reaching the adult section. The children's area is rather small and cramped, compared to the rest of the library.
Excellent library ! Patrica was so helpful. My daughter and I were passing through and wanted to visit a new library ! Thank you !
Oliver Wolcott Library is a vibrant active place for the community to learn, grow and come together. I have wonderful memories of riding my bike to OWL as a child and now have the opportunity to bring my son to the library to learn and be engaged. He was so proud to get his own library card.
The programs for all ages are thoughtful, engaging, varied and fun. Even now during the pandemic they continue to offer wonderful programs online and provide curbside pickup for books. I love being able to reserve books on their new website. The staff are all kind, helpful and love to read and that is modeled for all who come to the library.
The photos I shared I took in 2019 as part of Oliver Wolcott Library's rebranding.
Absolutely the best library I've ever been to. If they don't have what you're looking for they will get it from another library
What an invaluable resource in the center of Litchfield. Not only is the building beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful but the great resource extends to the website as well. It is easy to use, you can extend your due dates online, honestly there are too many features to mention. The library also hosts art exhibits, authors/speakers, and book clubs. They also have a decent selection of magazines on loan as well. I've always been a fan of libraries and this one does not disappoint!
