This Paramus location isn’t the largest retail store but it has a good enough variety of options that you can get what you need. Better still, it has stellar customer service because of Alicia who definitely deserves mention here. Alicia did an excellent job helping my husband find the style of pants he was looking to get as well as some shoes. Her advice on the pants was spot on and her take on footwear was also on point because she’s knowledgeable on the product offerings. There was no judgement, no rushing, no perturbed “have you decided” or “are you done” asked multiple times. Alicia had an abundance of patience and understanding with my husband who sustained an injury to his leg and the level of care and respect demonstrated is much appreciated. She is a genuine person who cares about what she does and it shows in her manner of interaction from the time you’re looking to the time you check out.

If you need tactical clothing, footwear, accessories, or gear you know 5.11 is the company to turn to and now you know who to look for in this location to help you. Is their pricing easy on the wallet? Depends on the size of your wallet. One could easily buy from Amazon for less but you’ll end up buying multiple times (because it doesn’t fit or doesn’t last) when you could have just bought right the 1st time round because with 5.11 you get built like a tank quality from a company that stands behind their products (limited lifetime warranty). And of course there’s Alicia who will make your retail experience easy peasy and pleasant.

Nice selection but the online shop is far better for sales. Additionally, I this shop does not offer military discounts, but online does. That’s really weird, especially considering the brand is built around that industry. One price was not labeled correctly (it was $10 more on a $36 item) but the clerk fixed the price for me.

Jest got my truck stuck and my friend asked the guy for cables and the guy go's "yeah no problem, jest let me close the shop"
A few minutes later the truck is on and working

Updating my review now that the store-opening temporary hours are done. This 5.11 location opened around May 2023 on Route 17 in Paramus. It’s smaller than other 5.11 locations I’ve visited (in Colorado and Florida) but they have a nice selection of clothing, bags, hats, footwear and accessories. The store has two large fitting rooms and plenty of parking in front. Seemed like less inventory than other locations, especially with t-shirts and patches, but the store is nice and a welcomed addition to the area.

Despite what’s been posted here on Google and Facebook by 5.11, this location is in Bergen County so it’s closed on Sundays, as noted on the store’s entrance doors. That’s obviously a negative for me, a New Yorker who works, commutes and doesn’t always have time to visit stores after work or on Saturday. On the plus side, you save on tax here.

My only other nitpick / frustration is it’s on Route 17, which can really be a nightmare with all the u-turns, traffic and small entrance lanes. You end up driving in circles on exit ramps to come and go. It’s directly across 17 from the old Fireplace restaurant
