My corgi was diagnosed with a tumor in her third eyelid; Dr. Hollo offered to perform a surgery in Basking Ridge Animal Hospital.
He explained her condition and the surgery in clear terms.
The surgery was a success and, luckily, the tumor test results came back benign.
The puppy is resting and healing now; she is feeling well and back to her sweet playful self.

I’ve been a pet owner for over 30 years but started using BRAH 2-1/2 years ago. I moved to BRAH at the recommendation of my sister because one of my pups was experiencing an issue with his rear leg and I wanted the opinion of Dr. Hollo who came so highly recommended. Dr. Hollo suspected CCL injury and referred me to an orthopedic specialist for further evaluation. TPLO surgery followed and my pup’s rear leg is fully healed. In addition to the excellent care I have received so far, I also stayed with BRAH because I love that my pups and I are brought into an exam room immediately upon arrival, rather than having to sit in a waiting area with other pups. IYKYK 😊

More recently, my 10 y/o pittie mix was diagnosed with a suspected osteosarcoma. I was set on having his amputation surgery at the specialty vet hospital, but after the pain progressed very quickly (which Dr. Hollo accurately predicted) and caused excruciating pain, Dr. Hollo made arrangements for his surgeon to do the amputation surgery more quickly than could have been done at the specialty hospital. Dr. Staiger did an amazing job and the incision is healing nicely and his pain is manageable. My guy is on the mend and thanks to Dr. Hollo we were able to care for him immediately. Dr. Hollo provides a level of care I’ve not seen with any other vet. I can appreciate that now more than ever and we will be staying with BRAH for the long haul. His entire staff is kind and caring and they are very attentive and responsive.

Finally, I will say that this is the first true emergency I’ve experienced with any of my pets and Dr. Hollo and his team reacted as I would have hoped and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Amazing veterinary services! The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and caring and it's always very clean. All our dogs have loved going there. Our current dog Abby just loves all the doctors there especially Dr. Hollo. She talks to him and just sits facing the door until he comes in. We've always had excellent care for our fur babies there. We've been going here for 30 years. If we have any questions after we get home a vet always calls us back the same day and answers any and all questions. Would highly recommend them.

Over my 25 years of “owning” dogs, I’ve never had more trust in any vet that I do in Dr. Hollo at Basking Ridge Animal Hospital. Recently, my 12-year-old dog, Beau, needed to get his teeth cleaned. They provided an estimate in advance, and the doctor called me twice during the procedure to let me know that he identified teeth that needed to be pulled. This was not because they were going to charge me more. They did not. This was because he wanted to make sure I understood why it was important for Beau to have his teeth extracted. Beau has recovered very well. In a week, glands in his neck that had always been slightly swollen had already gone down. And we’re looking forward to Beau living for many more years without life-shortening conditions stemming from loose teeth and gingivitis and affecting his kidneys. Bonus: his breath smells great now!

About two years ago, my dog Laverne had stage two mast cancer on her side. Dr. Hollo diagnosed and removed it and she has been healthy ever since. Because of the careful way he sewed up her side, you would never even know that she ever had surgery. This is no easy feat as Laverne is a cattle dog and has extremely short, white fur, and very pink skin. Dr. Hollo’s work was worthy of a plastic surgeon.

The love and care he puts into his work is extraordinary, and I am very grateful. I also appreciate the efficiency and kindness of the staff at the hospital, including the other vets, vet techs, and admins.

Basking Ridge Animal Hospital has provided my pet with exceptional care, and I’m continually impressed by the experience. The facility itself is beautiful and incredibly clean—it’s clear they take pride in maintaining a high standard of hygiene.

Dr. Hollo is an outstanding veterinarian. His attention to detail is remarkable; he detected a small lump in my dog’s neck that I had completely overlooked due to it’s tiny size. His thoroughness, combined with the genuine care he and his colleagues show, speaks volumes about their commitment to their patients. Other doctors we encountered at this practice are also great. You can tell the entire staff cares deeply about the animals they treat.

Appointments are well-organized, you never wait more than 5 minutes and they make an effort to accommodate emergencies if you’re already a patient, which I greatly appreciate. Pricing is about the same as other clinics I’ve been to—some services are more, some are less—but the level of care here makes it the only place for us. After visiting several vets with my 11-year-old dog, I can confidently say I wouldn’t trust anyone else with her care.
