I’ve been part of this community for many years and was glad to see this old masion converted to a mosque! I’ve prayed there often. I can see it needs a huge investment to upgrade its status ! A load of repairs need to been done and safety guidelines need to be upgraded ! The leadership is good , more help is needed in its maintenance ! You can come here and learn your Islamic faith properly !
Wonderful mosque and people I met in Elizabeth town. For the first time in the United States I get the chance to call for prayer. It was Mugrib Salah.
I wish almighty give them baraka.
Ma shaa Allah, I came in from out of town visiting and looking for a masjid to go to for Jumah. I did a quick search on masaajid around and none had a working website that could tell me what time Jumah was. I would suggest folks please work on website or updating result search on google. It was very difficult for me figuring out what time Jumah was because most masajid that came up in immediate results with a link to a website that redirects to Islamic finder. Unfortunately this site only shows daily solar but not Jumah time. AlhamduliLLAH this masjid was the only one I found in my quick search with a working phone number. I left a voicemail and decided to go there anyway.
SubhanALLAH I made it to Jumah right on time and the atmosphere of the masjid felt to me like a breathe of fresh air. The khutbah was clear messaged and very relevant to today. I went back for fajr the next day and it was really comforting and spiritual atmosphere I felt. AlhamduliLLAH for the masjid and all that I read on another review about its history and community. May Allah strengthen the Muslims and increase our steadfastness
This Mosque is absolutely unique. It actually should be a museum mosque. It used to be a mansion owned by a rich banker till 1911. After that, it was abandoned for few years, then turned into a private mosque for few decades then abandoned again then now to be a mosque. Such a powerful story behind it. Almost a month after it was turned in to a mosque, 9/11 happened. The hater and islamophobist burned the historical Mansion( mosque down) till now the mosque is still being renovated and restored.
Besides that amazing story, the mosque gives back to the Muslim and non Muslim community . See my pics for examples of the activities they do to the community!!
The management is very smart people who managed to keep this place not just running and self sufficient, they also give and support the community around them!
