One person was the hostess, waitress and bartender. She busted her butt trying to do everything, so I’ll give her credit.
Visited 12/09/23 for dinner, just shortly after 5 p.m. in a group of 4. I ordered the fish and chips, with an extra order of slaw. No vinegar or tartar sauce came with the fish, which you think should have. By itself, the fish was okay. The chips are freshly made and were pretty tasty. The slaw was creamy, and while I'm not a fan of that type of slaw, it was pretty good. Others ordered garden salad, the sirloin, and the salmon, all of which were properly cooked, and looked delicious with their respective sides. Everyone else said their food was pretty good. The person who ordered a garden salad asked if there was oil and vinegar for their salad, and the server (I don't know her name) seemed confused and said she wasn't too sure if there was. The dinner menu isn't too complicated, so I'm not sure why she wouldn't know, but it took a bit to find out. Also, the server never came back during the meal at all to ask if we wanted more to drink, she only asked at the very end of the meal when all the plates were gone.
There was also a wedding, and while everyone looked lovely, and doing things that weddings have (like picture taking, where a lot of cameras flashing kept hitting me in the face at an angle through the hallway windows) a lot of foot traffic was going across the hall directly in front of the restaurant. Another reviewer said false walls would be good, and I support that. At the very least, privacy curtains should be put up so that you can have a conversation with other people while eating.
I had the pleasure of having my rehearsal dinner for my wedding at JT's Restaurant & Pub and had about 20 people. Although service was a little slow, it was after COVID, it was expected and both waitresses did a phenomenal job. I was nervous because of a few bad reviews that I read, but the hotel assured me that everything would be fine because they hired a new cook. The food was not only excellent, it was also plentiful. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Kudos to the new chef, the waitresses and the Holiday Inn's staff who made our dinner rehearsal a success.
