Facebook said it's the best in Long Branch. IT IS! For take out, I was given a box instead of a tall bag that can fall over. I ordered a lot of food and I can't say anything negative about any of it. EXCELLENT!!
King chef has been around forever and is pretty pretty standard. Fair Chinese restaurant food for taking out. I've never dined inside, I've only ever done takeout. Takeout. The main thing that stands out to me about this place is the day after hurricane Sandy hit, I had no power or food at home and every place else in the area was closed and I was starving. I had a hard time even driving around all the debris. But I came across King's chef and they were actually open, I think they used the generator. The food tasted so good that day, I will never forget it.
OLD SCHOOL CHINESE FOOD!!! Just moved back to Jersey after living in the Atlanta area for the past 20 years. While the South may have bragging rights for barbecue and traditional Southern cooking, there are no great Chinese places to be found. Took a chance on King's Chef last week having read the reviews, and OMG I am in Chinese food heaven!!! Have had the fried chicken wings, ribs on the bone, pork fried rice, pepper steak, and wonton soup. Everything I've tried so far has been absolute perfection and so tasty. Reminds me of the Chinese restaurants we had in Jersey in the 70's and 80's - great little family places with amazing, reasonably priced food. The shrimp toast must be a fan favorite because in the 30 minutes I was there (I was running errands today so ate in), at least 5 customers who came in to pickup their food had shrimp toast as part of their order). While this is not the place to impress a date, the food and service more than make up for any lack of ambience. Google maps may make it a bit hard to find, so just look for the little strip mall behind the 7-11 and Wind Mill in West End. So worth the trip!
I found this place about a year ago, and it was such a great asset! Of course, once in a while, something is not a 10/10, but the consistency throughout the time, and the quality they maintain makes this place my only spot to order chinese food in the area. My favorites are chicken with brocoli, pork fried rice and boneless pork ribs, yummm i order the sme every week. I tried to change to another chinese rest a Couple times, But had to go back cause couldn't find a better place than this, at least in the area.
IF YOU WANT AMAZING CHINESE FOOD MADE IN HOUSE THIS IS THE SPOT!!!!! Crab Rangoon Pepper Steak, Shrimp Egg Roll, Steamed Dumplings ALL DYNAMITE!!!!!!
