I visited the Museum recently with my grandson. The Museum is a treat for those of us who enjoy visual arts: an eclectic and varied collection, as well as superbly curated temporary exhibits. My 6 year old companion enjoyed the features for children, including an interactive train city and timed entry to a room for inventing devices. I decided to become a member. We need to support culture in our community. We will return soon to experience the large section with demonstrations of automatons and self playing musical instruments.

The museum/mansion is a smaller museum, it had an amazing collection of arts, easy to navigate, clean and had nice a/c on a hot day, bathrooms were clean as well, had a little souvenir shop as well

I visited only one section of the museum - Murtogh Guinness collection of mechanical musical instruments and automata. This is an interesting topic, to my knowledge not well represented anywhere else, so the museum is quite unique. The labelling is quite good, but I also highly recommend a tour which is included in the museum admission. It also allows you to here some music boxes and see automatons in action.

The Morris Museum is a hidden gem in the heart of New Jersey. You get amazing value for your money and they have a cool selection of things to look at. All the staff are really friendly and very excited about the exhibits. I would highly recommend this place especially for kids because they have a lot of interactive exhibits and opportunities for learning. But even for adults it’s really fascinating and I think everyone would have a good time here!

Rainy Day Delight at The Morris Museum
We visited The Morris Museum on a rainy day and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The museum is surprisingly compact, making it easy to navigate even with young children. We were impressed by the diverse exhibits, ranging from fascinating local history to engaging science displays and beautiful art collections. There was even a small, dedicated area for kids with interactive elements that kept them entertained. We were able to comfortably explore the entire museum in under two hours, making it a perfect option for a quick and enriching outing. Our little one wasn't big enough to experience the hands on elements but were excited for when she is!! We're considering a family membership as it would be worth returning when exhibits rotate. Great quick outing!
