Very happy with my insurance that I've had for years with njm. I always get a dividend check just before Christmas each year. And recently, I called them about my husband's policy But I did not leave a voicemail, and I got a call back The next day from a very helpful representative.
Used to be a great company. Have had them for over 25 years. Just filed my first claim with them in 20 years, The first claim agent was reachable by text or email, but not easy to reach by phone. She then went on leave and my claim was passed on to the next representative who also was not easy to reach. And had to explain the claim over again as she wasn’t up to speed. Again not responsive. And now Tesla (who has been very easy to work with) states that they too cannot easily reach NJM for proof of payment.
Just disappointing, I expected better customer service from this company. It felt like their employees work from home, and respond when it’s convenient for them, not necessarily the client. As a result of NJMs lack of responsiveness, my car which was ready over a week ago, isn’t being released by Tesla until NJM does its part.
Just my experience. Hope others have had better experiences.
1/5/25 Update.
I cc’d a supervisor in my emails. Payment promptly made on New Years Day.
Not all the delays were the fault of NJM.
The police department entered the wrong license plate of the vehicle that hit me.
That didn’t help matters.
Police called last night to say the accident report has been rectified. Hopefully NJM can finish processing the claim.
Will keep you posted. Have upgraded NJM from 2-stars to 4-stars.
My auto insurance rate went up immensely during the course of this year of 2026. I contacted a wonderful technican by the name of Selecia.
This wonderful person helped me lower some of the terms on my policy and saved me $64.
Great way to start the new year off.
