Several years ago, we experienced a devastating house fire that began with a faulty attic fan. While the fire ravaged the attic and second level of our home, the overzealous firefighters managed to destroy the remainder with the copious amounts of water used. To make matters worse, the fire occurred at the start of Fourth of July weekend during a sweltering summer, and we could not get an insurance agent out to assist us for nearly a week. By the time they assessed the property, black mold had grown everywhere in the home. We could only imagine what was behind the walls and under the flooring. Further complicating the situation is the fact that I have lupus and a rare blood disorder, for which the environmental impacts of the mold could be catastrophic. The insurance adjuster assured us that they would "wipe the walls down" and test our electronics to make sure they were functioning properly. Clearly our home was inhabitable, and we knew we couldn’t handle the scope of this claim on our own. We proceeded to interview many personal adjusters, the bulk of whom seemed mildly unscrupulous at best. Finally, we interviewed Chris Green. Immediately our interaction with him seemed different from the rest. He was articulate, knowledgeable, diligent and most importantly, compassionate to the nuances of our situation. We decided to contract him to handle our claim on our behalf. This was one of the best leap of faith gambles we have ever taken in our lives. Chris completely took control of the situation. He had a crew of people to handle the gutting of the property and to perform specific environmental tests to determine whether or not I could safely return to the property. He had another crew performing an inventory of every item in our home for the contents portion of the claim. All the while, Chris handled the incessant emails and phone calls from the insurance adjusters with the utmost professionalism, so that we could get back to our lives. Additionally, Chris ensured that we were living in a comfortable, lovely location for the duration of the claim process. The fire was the most stressful event that we have ever had to endure, but Chris made the process as seamless as possible for us. I honestly don’t believe that we could have attempted this on our own, let alone become as close to whole financially as we did, without the assistance of Chris Green. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in a similar situation.
