Russ auto repair

Starter died while getting gas at Judy Bloome rest stop, had tow company take my truck to Russ auto repair based on recs I found here. I was NOT disappointed. Very honest and fair operation. Got me right in, called for pricing on new and refurb starter to give me options, started removing dead starter while waiting for new part delivery, immediately installed new starter and sent me on my way. VERY, VERY honest. If you are in the area and need vehicle service, you will be very happy having service done here.

I am lucky to have my own honest mechanic in my town, but if I did not I would probably drive the 1+ hours to get my future auto work done here. Russ is that good, and I don't often take time to write reviews.

I was visiting in the area of Ocean Grove and started having car issues. Local bartender at Darcy’s recommenced Russ’s auto repair in Neptune. He said he was very honest-fair and only did what needed to be done. Russ was amazing!! He knew that I was not from the area and was in a bind. I dropped off my car and in a matter of an hour he called me back and had identified the issue and the fix. I was thrilled that he could do the repair which required welding-yet another skill of Russ’s. While I had imagined the worst with my exhaust system, a very fair rate was charged and he had it ready for me the same day just a few hours later. I only wish that Russ was my auto mechanic in Northern Jersey. He is a rare Gem and anyone in the Neptune area should run to him for all their future auto maintenance and repairs. He goes above and beyond and is vey kind and friendly too!!

I've gone through several mechanics and Russ is easily the best I've worked with. He is 100% up front and honest with you about everything and would rather you do what's best for you then try to make a quick buck. His prices are also very fair and I will be happy to come to him for any future problems I run into!

This guy helped me out so much very down to earth person. Our radiator broke on the way to work. Found the nearest auto body shop. He gave us great price and did a great job and fixed it in one day! Recommend this guy!

Russ is the kind of mechanic you dream of finding—honest, fast, and just a genuinely great guy. He works solo and absolutely knows his stuff. My sister-in-law and I were in a bit of an emergency situation, and Russ jumped right in to help. He had her car fixed within an hour and even walked her through what she’ll need done in the near future—no pressure, just honest guidance.

He’s not only a total pro and a problem-solver, but also just a fun and kind person to talk to while you wait. You can tell he takes pride in his work and really cares. Plus, he eats healthy but won’t turn down a good snack if you want to bring him a treat!

Seriously, 10/10 auto repair. I wish I lived closer because Russ would absolutely be my go-to mechanic. Honestly, even from an hour away, he’s worth the drive. Support this man and his shop—you won’t regret it.
