Really cool area. Lighthouse was fun, the gun emplacements were awesome, and the history of the area is fascinating. Worth a visit!

It's an old building but very clean and does have some things you can buy there. If you're in the area it's worth a quick visit.

Great little visitor center with lots of information about New Jersey lighthouses. There are several movies to watch and numerous exhibit displays about the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. There's also a park book store/gift shop here. The hours change throughout the year, so definitely call ahead or check the website.

Lots of history and beautiful location. Take the ferry from Manhattan visit! Bike rentals avail.

Informative visitor's center. Spacious restrooms. Ample parking. Two informative movies. Nice displays. Gorgeous Lighthouse but not for those with a fear of heights! Narrow spiral staircase and narrow ladder up to the top. But my adventurous crew loved it! Abandoned military base and trails that are fun to walk around. Pebbly Beach that you can spend the day on. Pavilions and lots of picnic tables! Not seeing very many trash cans though!
