Sofia's taqueria is excellent! The food is delicious and generous portions! The margaritas are outstanding! My fav is the chipotle pineapple on the rocks with tajin rim. The service is also top notch. It was a pleasure to meet the manager Santiago and tell him how much we loved this place!
It’s a little pricey BUT! Given this economy it’s understandable. I got the carne asada entree and it was amazing. The skillet was so hot it kept the steak and potatoes piping hot through the entire meal. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly, it was a lot of food I couldn’t finish it I tried! The atmosphere is awesome the lights, plants the wooden panel walls were cool. But the star of the show was as the mojitos ohhh man the chipotle pineapple is my new favorite I will keep coming back and try every single one. But the atmosphere at the bar was great.
First time checking out this spot and although the service was great, it felt like the food was just fine. I appreciated the free chips and salsa while you wait, but the chips were a bit stale and the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. Our food came pretty quickly and was good, but was kind of bland and lacked flavor that I was expecting.
I’d go back and maybe give it another shot, but with so many other local places that have this same type of food, I’m not sure this would be a place I go to often.
Our experience could be summed up in a single word. Okay. There was nothing wrong with it, the is nothing that stood out.
The building, decor and music are vibrant and builds an expectation of a lively experience.
Then reality settled in. The music was just a little too loud for easy conversation. The waitress was polite. The service speed was average, not bad. They put out a tiny bowl of chips and salsa. It was probably the smallest of any restaurant I've been to and there was no offer to refill when it was gone. The salsa was fresh made, but just okay. As it is marketed as tacos and tequila, we ordered tacos and margaritas. With dozens of bottles of tequila we thought that there might be a separate menu, some information, flights, anything, but there was not. So we tried a basic and top shelf margarita. They were both okay.
The food arrived in decent time. do offer flour, mixed and gluten free corn options which was great and well and vegetarian options that we hadn't really seen elsewhere.
There were three tiny tacos. As with everything else, they were okay. The flavors just didn't pop, in fact the were fairly bland.
Here is where I was really disappointed. The price is not cheap. I have no problem paying a premium price if either the portions are generous or if quality is excellent.
This is so close to Dover where you can get food and drinks that are both superior in quality and considerably less expensive.
I really wanted to like this place, but it definitely under delivered.
Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to give this restaurant a try last night, and I was not disappointed! Our waiter, Rolando, was exceptional—very good and knowledgeable. We started with the Street Corn, which was a fantastic beginning. For our main courses, we had the Pineapple Salad with Shrimp (they certainly don't skimp on the shrimp!) and the Steak and Chicken Fajitas. Both meats were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The only suggestion I have concerns the busboys: while they were attentive about refilling our waters and offering chips and salsa, they forgot to wipe or clean the table after clearing the plates. We will come back.
