We worked with John at Spitz and Peck for our full wedding day - ceremony and reception, and unfortunately the experiences were very disappointing. We received the highest quote from this florist than any other and paid over $30k, but they seemed the most confident in what we were looking to execute. Unfortunately, they completely under-delivered.

    Ceremony – Extremely Disappointing
Our ceremony setup was an incredible letdown and completely missed the vision we had clearly communicated. We paid several thousand dollars (i believe $3K) for a dramatic and grand fabric chuppah structure (see the inspo photo we shared below), and what we received looked nothing like what was promised. The fabric used was cheap, flimsy, and frankly embarrassing given the cost and the detailed inspiration photos we provided. See attached for the sample photos we provided and the result.

We also paid for bows to line the ceremony aisle chairs, and again, the result was nothing like the photos. The fabric didn’t match the chuppah color or texture as promised, and the ceremony setup felt like a rushed, low-quality version of what we were told we’d receive AND PAID FOR. It was incredibly disappointing, especially knowing this was the first impression our guests had of our wedding day.

We had discussed several times in person and via email confirmations the need for flameless candles both for the floor and the chuppah due to the fact that the venue would not allow real flames on floors due to the fire hazard. These were not even delivered, leaving us with a completely different vision and look as promised.

    Reception -
On a bit more of positive note, the florist did a better job with our reception. The floral arrangements more closely matched the vision we had hoped for.

There were still a couple of missteps: the welcome sign décor looked noticeably off, and my bridal bouquet contained several dying, brown soggy flowers mixed into what was supposed to be an all-white arrangement, which was disappointing and very noticeable in person and in photos. It was supposed to be a clean, organized bouquet with a dramatically long stem. This did not happen.

Overall, our ceremony experience was so far from what was promised that it overshadowed any of the good. They dramatically overpromised and underdelivered on the most meaningful part of the day. If you choose to work with them, I highly recommend getting everything in writing, asking for fabric samples (better yet not even using them for anything with fabric), and confirming every detail repeatedly to avoid the issues we faced.

Also, when we tipped the guys who were setting up, one of them said "really, thats all they're tipping us." That was pretty unprofessional. Please note that we followed the tipping recommendations provided by our wedding planner.

Below are photos of the images we shared for the vision and expectation. You can see the results that followed...

John did a STUNNING job providing florals for our wedding. He was always a pleasure to work with, communicative and flexible as needed. He took our vision and made it a reality beyond our dreams, it made the room stunning. We knew the arrangements would be stunning after our preview meeting with John, but he took it to the next level in how he reacted to the room on the day of and made the space even better. The level of service was also superb including day of. I can't recommend working with John and Spitz & Peck higher!

We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to hire Dalsimer Spitz and Peck to be our wedding florist. John was so easy to work with. He is personable, flexible, and is able to make your vision a reality with very minimal direction. I knew very little about what I wanted for our wedding flowers, but in a very short amount of time talking with him, he knew exactly what I didn’t even realize I wanted! He also made an adorable floral collar for our puppy!

Our wedding was a dream come true, thanks to our amazing florist! We had a traditional Jewish wedding with red and white flowers, a beautiful chuppah, and stunning centerpieces that added a touch of elegance to the venue. What impressed us the most was how our florist expertly worked within our budget, delivering an incredible experience without breaking the bank. Every detail was perfect, and our wedding day was made even more special thanks to their talent and dedication. We can't thank you enough!
