St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Cathedral

Beautiful Cathedral on Main Street in Metuchen, dedicated to St Francis and recently Our Lady Of Guadalupe by the Bishop.

St. Francis Cathedral is a truly beautiful place of worship with an incredibly kind and welcoming community. As an Indian, I’ve often felt out of place in certain spaces, but here I genuinely feel at home. The warmth and inclusivity of the parishioners are something special. The priest has been especially open and approachable, always willing to talk and make me feel included. It’s a spiritual haven where I feel seen, respected, and connected.

I got my faith back on Ash Wednesday 2024 and I'm so happy I did..I thank all the priest and everyone who makes this Cathedral so beautiful.. especially I got to thank Tommy in Maintenance and his workers..they keep the cathedral so clean..,,the organ player and choir for there beautiful voices and of course all my parishioners...my prayers been answered since Ash Wednesday..I tell you the truth.. I wanted to give back a little something to Jesus and I sanded down and painted railing at the steps.(. posted pictures)..i am not bragging but just putting it out there to give back..i love Jesus..thank you again my Lord and everyone in St Francis.. Very peaceful catholic cathedral. Amazing architecture. Was here for my cousins Joseph and Lauren’s daughter Esmeralda’s christening last month

Beautiful cathedral built in 1961, built in the Gothic Revival style with a Rose window at the front facade.
Was chosen cathedral for the diocese of Metuchen in 1981.
It is a beautiful and peaceful space to worship.
I visited off hours, but would love to attend a mass and see how the community interacts with the building.
