The Park Restaurant is my absolute go-to for South Indian food in New Jersey. Banana leaf lunch, festive grand buffet, or a regular meal - this place never misses.
The Thalapakatti biryani is easily one of the best in the US. I recommended it to a friend from Virginia, and now five families from VA visit The Park every time they’re in NJ. That alone says everything.
If you’re in NJ and craving authentic South Indian food, look no further. There’s always a surprise item on the menu—buffet or banana leaf, something new every single time.
I’ve also used their catering for multiple house functions and parties—flawless every time. Highly recommended

We had an unforgettable experience at this South Indian restaurant. My husband and I arrived right as they were closing, and instead of turning us away, they welcomed us like family and invited us to dinner. The hospitality was beyond anything we’ve experienced—so kind, generous, and genuine. They even refused to let us pay. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a beautiful reminder of true South Indian warmth and culture. Highly, highly recommended. We will always remember this kindness.

I go here almost weekly for their Wednesday Dosa Night. Their dosas are great, sambhar is fresh, and chutneys are stocked. Pongal rice is good (sometimes a bit too mushy for me but no big deal), vada is definitely made fresh, and the idlis are alright. I absolutely love the variety of dosas that they offer - the podi, cheese, and gongura dosas are my personal favourites. I will say that dosa night service is a little bit lacking. There's practically only one woman running around taking orders from people even on a busy night. Bless her heart, she's trying her best, but there really should be more than just her. I don't want to be sitting around with an empty table waiting to order more dosas.

I was also here for their Deepavali buffet and back when they did the "Quick Lunch" mini-buffet about a year or so ago. They keep the buffet stations well-stocked with some great food for a fair price (I believe it was 20 or 25$). They also have some rather interesting or atypical menu items on their buffet (not sure if it was just for Deepavali though).

I have had many bad experiences with Indian restaurants cheating and shortchanging me, but this was not one of them. Solid restaurant and worth the price. They respect the culture by serving good food at a fair price, and clearly are proud of what they are serving.

Chicken 65, chicken varuval, mutton thalapakatti Biriyani, chicken biriyani, chicken gravy, mutton gravy, poori, Malabar layered parotta, everything was awesome
Surprised to find such authentic chattinad taste

    Definitely worth it

This place is a hidden gem! I recently went there for lunch. They serve a traditional banana leaf meal on the first Sunday of every month. The food was excellent – full of different varieties, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Everything was tasty, fresh and full of flavor. You can eat as much as you want, and the staff keeps serving with a smile. The quality of the food was really impressive. I could tell they put a lot of care into preparing each dish. I truly enjoyed every bite. It’s definitely worth visiting, especially on those special Sundays. I also noticed they do a lot of catering, so they’re a great choice if you’re planning an event.
