I have been dealing with Vince for many years now. He built my closed deck block over 40k miles ago and it is still strong! Never steered me wrong and takes his time to answer my questions... even if I am a PITA at times. Thanks Vince!

Full custom 2.3L destroker block build after catastrophic engine failure on stock 2020 STI block in August 2023. Vince took the initial time to explain everything in the build list, including part functionality. He has endless knowledge of Subarus and rally/street/drag builds. His immense attention to detail and precision are impressive. I was given updates during the entire process, sent photos and videos also. Vince is honest, skilled, transparent and professional. This is the man you want building your Subaru! His experience with Subarus showed during the entire process from initial phone consultation until after dyno tuning. I was excited the entire time, not nervous or apprehensive as with other speed shops. Vince took his time with my build and treated the car as his own and she turned out perfectly, running strong and rowdy. I received my STI back in April of 2024, and we are currently ripping and running at 631 WHP/490 TQ on 28lb- no leaks, no issues, no problems. He was accessible even after pick up to answer my (mostly silly) questions, even about weird Subaru quirks. Vince Griffin is the GOAT in the Subie world

Vince assembled my EJ back in 2016 and she is still running over 600hp strong! I've been doing the regular maintenance myself but think after 9 years I will be bringing it back to him for a checkup. He obviously knows how to get longevity out of a Subaru engine :)

I had the pleasure to commission Vince to build a new longblock for my ‘05 STI.

Right from the start, Vince displayed his near infinite knowledge of Subaru engines from our first phone call. We mapped out the project, and determined the best path for building a reliable, yet powerful EJ257.

From every step of the way, Vince clearly communicated his intentions. From explaining in detail the specific components of the engine & all of the supporting features, pricing, and why. I felt comfortable throughout the entire process.

I could not be happier with the end product. The engine is beautiful. The custom supporting mods are unique, and you can truly see the craftsmanship and dedication that went into this build.

Vince is a true professional in every aspect. If you want a Subaru engine built by the very best, he should be your only choice.

Nothing but the highest attention to detail when you’re getting a block from Vince. He’s an engine builders, engine builder. What you get is the truth from the start. You’ll get the correct spec build for what you plan to do with your car. My shortblock from Vince handled 10-15 minute straight track beatings without any trouble. No oil consumption, 80-100psi operating oil pressure, no funny noises, no questions. I’ve built all my own Subaru’s from the jump and have had great luck with them. But Vince’s experience and work is a step above and it shows! To this day the only block I’ve paid someone to build was through Vince. Couldn’t be happier with it operating nearly as quiet as a stock EJ and making 400whp/400wtq with ease compared to my last block. 17psi from an EFR6758 on E60. My tuner even mentioned how much happier this engine was with ignition timing as it was making big jumps in power with small adjustments. After break in I was seeing 145psi compression with stock cams up at 5,000 feet of elevation! Rarely come across a stock EJ Even when new that tests that high.

Buy with confidence knowing there’s years of Subaru knowledge hard at work to give you the best. I’ve installed Vince’s blocks in several customer cars and had friends buy blocks from him and I still get positive feedback months and years later. It’s rare to find high level craftsman built blocks that continue to perform lap after lap, pass after pass, canyon run to freeway pulls.

Vince is an honest reliable guy, happy to do business, even happier to call him a friend!
