Just visiting the area with the puppies and we decided to pay a visit to the dog park. Great park. All fenced around a hugh grass area... well snow area but wonderful times for the doggies. Not many dogs but the few were very well trained.
Wantage dog park offers a unique mix of size and amenities, making it a standout spot for dog owners. However, its success relies on responsible ownership. Visitors should be aware that off-leash play among different breeds can sometimes lead to scuffles and territorial behavior. The relaxed culture is part of its charm, but attentiveness is vital to ensure safe and enjoyable play for everyone.
Drove the hour and half to visit this place as it is the largest dog park in New Jersey. I was impressed by the nice decor and huge land. My dog, Todd loved running freely around the whole field and engaging with the dogs and people! The dog owners were very friendly and welcoming and told us about the owner of the dog park and what his plans are. The owner is truly a dog lover. You can sign your name in the book and leave a donation as well to support him. If we are ever in the area again- this would be our "rest" stop.
Wantage Dog Park totally surprised me in the best way. The space is big and wide open, so the pups have plenty of room to run around and play without feeling crowded. There’s a good mix of sun and shade, and lots of benches and seats for us humans to relax while the dogs do their thing.
One thing I really appreciated was how clean and well-kept everything was. The park felt super safe and secure, which gave me peace of mind. They even have a hose station so you can easily fill up water bowls or cool your pup off if they get too hot.
Honestly, it’s such a great spot for both dogs and dog parents. Charlie had a blast and I loved that I could just chill, sip my coffee, and enjoy the vibe. We’ll definitely be making this a regular stop when we’re in the area.
A real nice dog park! Well kept and reasonably clean save for the occasional pile of owner overlooked dog poop. Grass surface and lots of space for dogs to run and play with other dogs. Owners seem fairly conscientious about monitoring their pup’s activities.
