Beautiful, we hiked all the way up
Pool is closed costs too much to operate county park closes at 6 pm on Sunday
Plenty of picnic tables clean bathroom
I don't know if there is a fee to use the park.
I didn't like the idea of being chased out by 6pm.
We had our Family Reunion at the Yellow Pavillion at Craigmeur State Park in Sept. 2017. What an awesome outside property. I dealt with Mrs. Russo to book the site and was able to tour the facility with Mr. Andrews who was also our caretaker for the day. The pavillon we choose was the smaller of the three, but still would have held four times the amount of people (60) in our family. They do not supply food or drink and although they do have fields for soccer and softball ad well as basketball and shuffleboard, you will need to bring your own supplies to play, which we did. The tent above the pavillion was brand new, the floor was asphalt and level, there were a few electrical outlets to power up cooking and assorted appliances. Mr. Andrews was there when needed and offered up additional amenities at no additional cost. The bathrooms are close by and very clean and up to date. I highly recommend giving Mrs. Russo a call if you are considering a company, group or family outing. You will have a great time.
This is a nice place for outdoor events like large-scale picnics. It is owned by the county so it seems that they use it very little and I don't know if it's available for public rental. It's a shame because it seems to be just going to waste
I'm not entirely sure of the dates, 1960/61 perhaps, but Diana(my wife) and I heard of and attended a meeting at Craigmeur. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the re-launch of Craigmeur Ski Club.
At end of the evening, which had been under loose but humorous control of a gentleman by the name of Conwell Martin, I found myself appointed Club Secretary. A role, which I continued in, quite inefficiently, until we returned home England in 1962.
We made some wonderful friends, with whom we experienced some memorable times. We even reached a skiing proficiency of absolute novices.
Fondest regards to all at CSC.
