Great for kayak and SUP rentals as Manhasset Bay is protected from larger waves and is a no wake zone. Great fishing for striped bass and bluefish.
The shop also has a great variety of fishing equipment and bait alongside clothing and boating gear.
Most importantly the owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and always has great insights.
I can not recommend this place enough. Small town bait and tackle shop that has it all. Went in there knowing nothing about what I needed for saltwater fishing and got the best advice anyone could ask for! I was always treated with kindness and these guys really go the extra mile! Ben and John took great care of me when things didn’t go right with the things I bought ( manufacturing issue and had nothing to do with Atlantic outfitters) and went out of their way to have what was needed sent next day. They stayed late when I couldn’t make it before they closed and just all around super knowledgeable, respectful and kind hearted guys! They have anything you need in there from $50 combos to $650 reels. I can’t recommend this place enough and if ur headed in ask for John or Ben! Super awesome dudes.
The young man at the store was very friendly. Prices were extremely reasonable. My only problem was we didn’t check the rods before leaving the store. We rented a boat at a local business near by and didn’t want to carry our own rods so we rented from this business instead. When we got out into the water we noticed that one out of the two rods were defective. Instead of apologizing and helping us, the young man was suspicious that we did something to break it and didn’t even offer us a refund for the defective rod (this was a father’s day trip so you can imagine how disappointing it was to only have 1 rod to fish with). Nobody was rude or unkind. Still a great business. Since the rental only cost me $10, I didn’t really mind but I think the thought would count in a situation like this. Probably won’t come back to this business.
Get on the water in Port Washington! Simple train ride from Penn Station! Lots to do. Kayaks, Boards, Row Boats! Beautiful dock, sunset on the water is always a treat
They have exactly what you need to fish the waters of the Western Long Island Sound and beyond.
Best ice price around...really, try them!
Fair prices and knowledgable, friendly staff makes this place a home run for bait and tackle.
Avoid a big box store, support local businesses like this for a personalized experience.
