I met Captain Jeff early this last summer when he brought my new 54’ power-catamaran up from Florida to NY. When we first spoke on the phone about the trip, he was very amenable to, and flexible with, having me meet him at any port on the way up to join him and his crew on the trip. When I met up with them, it was immediately obvious that he was a no-nonsense captain that new his stuff. Jeff exuded the highest level of professionalism yet was very friendly, not intimidating, and super easy to talk to. I have worked with him many times since then and have found him to be highly skilled and very knowledgeable about boating in general, travel up and down the coast from Florida to Massachusetts, and especially about boating around Long Island.

I spent many days this last summer of ‘25 with him as he taught me about the workings of my new boat. He helped me trouble shoot those typical new boat issues and items that occur and need fixing or tweaking. With his guidance and mentoring, I now feel confident that I understand the different systems and how they work on my boat. I can troubleshoot basic issues and know what to do when they occur. He also showed me how to perform minor maintenance work such as checking and changing the oil for the engines and generator, checking and cleaning the water filters and intakes to the engines, generator, and air-conditioning systems, and how to troubleshoot the electrical system on my new boat.

I also had Jeff “Captain” my boat a few of times when I just wanted to have my friends and family out for the day and relax myself. Those were the best days of the summer! He’s fun, professional, and so easy to have around. Everyone enjoyed having “Captain Jeff” hang with us those days!

Whether you are looking for a highly skilled professional to transport your boat from here-to-there for you when you’re unable, someone to teach you about your new boat and mentor you about boating in general or, to hire a Captain to run your boat while you relax and enjoy the voyage, Captain Jeff is your man!!!

There are no words good enough to express how wonderful Captain Jeff was. He is a most timely professional. He could not do enough to make my boating experience easier for me. In dead extreme low tide he was able to navigate to a fuel station, the cherry on top Sunday is how caring he is. He is a great person. It was not just business. If you need a marine captain or instructor he is your man.

Jeff is an excellent captain and teacher for any new boat owner. Highly recommend hiring captain Jeff to learn or for him to captain your boat for a fun day. Very trustworthy and very experienced - he knows his stuff

I originally met Jeff in August of 2020 when I was looking for a new boat. I was looking to move to a much bigger boat. Jeff happened to walk in to the sales office where we were introduced. I knew right away he was the right captain to help me learn my new boat, and most importantly how to operate it safely.

Fast forward to March, 2021. My new boat came in and I reached out to Jeff to schedule time together. We spent four days together, learning all of the boats systems. We spent hours practicing close quarter maneuvers and docking, as well as cruising the Long Island Sound. Jeff made me operate the boat in very windy conditions! He made me dock with nothing but the engines(no thrusters, no advanced tools). He made me do it by myself! This was perfect! Things will not always be smooth sailing - Jeff provided me with the confidence and knowledge to safely operate in imperfect conditions! His patience and competence invoked confidence in myself!

I highly recommend Jeff if you need additional training, a captain for a day, or a boat move! Great guy, super helpful, and a wealth of knowledge! Thanks Jeff

Jeff worked with me when I purchased my first boat - a 28’ Grady. We did a few 3-4 hour sessions and he covered everything I needed to know to responsibly enjoy my first boat. Setting dock lines, tying knots, docking, understanding ATNs, reading charts, anchoring, tight-quarter maneuvering, basic maintenance and mechanical (like how to use your battery banks), navigating Shinnecock locks, boating in poor conditions, etc. Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable, even more patient, and even more personable and easy to be around. I highly recommend him.
