Imanie the page was very helpful in helping me find every book I needed. Great experience.
Cornwall library should be avoided if what you're looking for is a quiet place to browse, read, study. The employees talk loud, the patrons are loud, the children run rampant - with no one shhsshing anyone (except me, in my mind) - it's crazy. The directors must be young and didn't grow up in a civilized library. Go to Washingtonville which is beautiful and you can hear a pin drop, or Newburgh which is huge so you can always get a quiet spot, and the view of the Hudson River is nice.
I cannot stress enough how enriching and rewarding this library is to the Cornwall community.
From the public-oriented foyer to the children's section to the computer bank to the soft seating for reading, my family has used all areas of this little gem.
The staff is nothing short of helpful, always positive and ebullient and rewarding.
The interlibrary loan is super efficient and effective. Often books come in quicker than I anticipate.... but that is in no means a bad thing!
My weekly visits to this library are always a highlight, and I look forward to engaging in even more of their busy schdule.
Our favorite library! Great selection, and they can pull in materials from other locations if needed. There are various reading clubs every month, displays with New Arrivals or a theme (currently it's 'Banned Books'!), an excellent children's area, tables with puzzles and chess.. it's a great place!
Respectful staff. I love the section in the library that offers free books. They have a mini store, a chess time (club), lego events... This library rocks.
