Took my daughter on the first day they opened and I would give that a 5 star. We both had so much fun! Went back 3 weeks later and everything was dirty (still had fun) but I was more concerned about landing on our face or water buildup in the corners (water was black). They only open on Friday/Saturday/Sunday so the inflatable is sitting on the parking lot deflated the rest of the week. It doesn't seem like it was even cleaned.
This was a lot of fun. The bouncy house was huge and truly a thing of beauty. My kids (4 and 7) had a great time. I was concerned initially because this was happening in the summer, in a parking lot on an 80 degree day. I was worried about the heat. But I was pleasantly surprised to find not only a family area with shade but shady areas inside the bouncy houses. Some surfaces were still pretty hot even at 11 am, and we avoided them, and there was rain water stuck in some places which was fine given how hot it was but our feet got wet and our butts as well. Bringing ice cold drinks is a must. And pace yourself. The $15 ticket bought you 90 minutes which was plenty. Truly lots of fun. Would have been prefect on a 75 degree day. Staff was sweet. Free stickers were lovely. Lots of reminder notifications which was great. Overall most excellent.
Our family (2 adults and an 8 year old) went on a really hot day and still had a great time. With socks on the rubber was not that hot. We took shade breaks. 90 minutes is plenty of time. We all had fun and plan on going back another day.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 out of 5 stars
Overall, my 4-year-old son had a great time bouncing and jumping around — it definitely helped burn off his energy! However, I think the experience could have been better with a little more attention to maintenance.
There was water inside some of the inflatables, likely leftover from the rain the night before. While I understand the weather is out of staff’s control, it might have been safer to keep certain areas closed until they fully dried. Some parts of the bounce houses also needed better inflation — especially near the stitching, where air seemed to be leaking — and the Velcro attachments between sections were loose in spots. This made parts of the obstacle courses really hard to get through, especially where puddles formed.
As for the ice vendors, the flavored ice wasn’t the best — the juice tasted cheap and the ice didn’t feel very clean. But I know kids usually don’t notice those things. Still, when you're running around in the sun and sweating, hydration is important, so the options should be better.
All in all, Funbox Middletown is a fun spot for high-energy kids — and even for adults who still have the heart of a kid and want to join in on the bouncing fun. Just a little more upkeep would make the experience even better for everyone.
This place is a 10/10. I saw it yesterday while passing the mall and figured I would try it out. It was so easy to purchase tickets and the sign the waivers ahead of time. I have a 3 year old and 1 year old and it was $32 for the both of us (2 and under are free with a purchase of an adult ticket). From the moment we pulled up and my daughter saw it, she was so excited. Fun Box at the galleria mall did NOT disappoint. My daughter is a huge fan of bounce houses so this was a dream for her. They had great music, bubbles blowing, and shaved ice. Not to mention the people that worked there were very friendly and super helpful. We will definitely be back!
