Hempstead House

We really enjoyed our visit! The place is peaceful and relaxing, and there weren’t many people around (we went on a Wednesday). There’s convenient parking and even a playground for kids. It’s a great spot for a walk outdoors — the grounds are beautiful and well-kept. As far as I could tell, there’s nothing inside the building except restrooms, so the main attraction is exploring the outside area.

Underwhelming. $15 entry and not much to see or do. It seems you’re paying for mowing services that support the wedding venue.

A private beach so no access. You can however walk around a small algae filled pond.

As a tourist it’s a let down. Waited for 11am entry into the large castle looking venue - the staff member was late and nothing to see inside.

A missed opportunity.

There are limited offerings, so make sure to check in advance if there are tickets. The view out past the garden towards the water feels quite luxurious and is well maintained with occasional bees roaming around.

Great guided tour, very interesting and informative. Beautiful place! Especially if you are a fan of The Gilded Age🔥 not gonna lie I have visited many mansions before, but this one is one of the best!
