Overall experience was good for a family. Hotel was clean for constantly having small children run around. Food was pricey and subpar for dinner with a limited menu. Breakfast was good, eggs, meat and tater tots and included with the stay. Also had complementary cereal, toast and fruit. Play area was a good spot to hang, meet other parents and let the kids run around. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.
Legoland is great and the hotel is fine. Just beware we had bad experience with the water - drinking water (assumed to be tap) tasted and smelled like cleaning chemicals. The water in the bathroom had the same acrid smell. Mentioned to the restaurant manager who informed “engineering” about the issue. We had to buy bottle water for drinking and personal usage. Lego, we love you and please take care of this issue.
Also there was a fake skating rink using plastic surface and real ices skates. The amount of microplastics floating in the air and attaching to the clothing is horrible. Why would we use ice skates when you can just use roller blades??????
Just spent a wonderful night here with the family - 4th floor Pirate room. Lots of things to love that many others have mentioned but here's a few constructive feedbacks -
1. Consider including a themed nightlight in the bunk bed area, especially since the hotel caters to families with younger kids and can get dark in the rooms.
2. We loved the complimentary gifts (lego sets, magazines, waters & juice) BUT maybe not 3 ENTIRE bags of gummy bears because not all kids (and their parental units) have the willpower to hold off consuming all of it immediately.
3. I have to admit that the welcome treasure hunt was a bit tricky, even though I'm usually good at escape rooms... luckily the text messaging service was very quick to provide a hint!
I truly can’t say enough good about this hotel. I was unsure about staying here because it is a little more expensive than staying off site. I decided to just go for it and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. The hotel is walking distance to the park which is a huge perk with young kids. Everything is fun and colorful making it appealing to kids (and even adults). You are immediately excited about your arrival pulling up because of the amazing Lego display entrance. It is mind blowing what can be built from Lego’s! Upon pulling up the staff was incredibly helpful offering help with bags and tips to make the experience just a little bit more magical. I won’t ruin the surprise but even the elevator has fun elements to it (tip: clap your hands for added fun in the elevator). All the staff was so wonderful, kind, helpful and going above and beyond for everyone. They have fun activities in the lobby- crafts, a scavenger hunt (with an extra special treat for completing) and even being able to hunt for Mr. Gold. Even when my son was being a bit shy to ask the staff was so great at interacting with him. Of course tons of legos for building and playing in the lobby and a giant castle for playing. Somehow with all the kids and legos they were able to keep the area maintained and clean- and impossible job I’m sure! All around the hotel are life size figures completely MADE OF LEGOS. We stayed in a pirate theme room and it was BEYOND cool. I loved the three layered bunk bed. Even the carpet was pirate theme. Inside the room they have another treasure hunt where you answer a couple questions to get numbers to unlock the safe- inside the safe is a fun surprise for each of your kids. They also provide a juice box for each kid and water bottle for each adult. I thought this was a very sweet touch. On the tv in the kids room, it looked like a live feed of the hotel hallway and Lego pirates walking around. The kids LOVED it and wanted to watch it. They provided easy access to all the Lego movies on the tv as well. We were sure to check out all the floors to seethe fun ninja, friends and kingdom themes as well. The lobby also plays lots of fun, upbeat and kid friendly music but it is very quiet in the rooms (and I’m a very light sleeper). In addition, there is a number you can text “the wizard” that can help solve any issues- such as bringing more pillows. They give you fun wizard responses too. I thought it was really cool that the elevators would not move unless you scanned your room card key too because it kept kids from running off on their own. Unfortunately, we came on off-season so the pool was not open but we looked outside and it looks so much fun. They have fire pits that can be used and s'more supplies that can be purchased. Lego truly thought of everything. Everything throughout the hotel and room was clean and well maintained.
The breakfast was nothing to write home to- a standard hotel continental breakfast but served family style which is nice with multiple kids. Tater tots, breakfast meats, toast, cereal, fruit, eggs etc. you can get some other fun things like funfetti pancakes for an up charge. They didn’t forget about adults and have yummy specialty coffee and even cocktails (mimosas and a “special” coffee!!!) I would stay here again without hesitation.
I want to reiterate again the staff was absolutely AMAZING. Every single person we interacted with
TLDR: STAY HERE!!! It is worth every single penny.
The hotel is right next to the amusement park. My kids enjoyed their night there. They have a huge castle and many Lego bins where kids can play in the morning and evening. They don’t offer free Lego workshops in the morning—only in the afternoon. We didn’t know, so we missed it. There is a restaurant, but the food is not very good and somewhat overpriced. You can have a drink while the kids are playing in the castle, which is pretty cool. The rooms have amazing sheets—I loved them. They also have a Lego bin in the rooms where kids can keep building their creations. Overall, it was nice, but we spent way too much for just one night.
