The staff is always friendly and gives good wine suggestions. The pricing is very affordable
I have frequented this store numerous times to purchase alcohol and have always had positive experiences—until tonight. My visit began on an unwelcoming note when, instead of a greeting, I was abruptly told, *“You have two minutes to make a purchase; we’re about to close.”* While I understand the store closes at 8 PM, this is no justification for treating a customer with such impatience and disrespect.
After selecting my first item, I moved to gather the remaining three bottles I needed. Before I could finish, the same young female staff member harshly urged me to hurry yet again. Had the store already decided to stop serving customers, it would have been far more courteous to simply post a “closed” sign or inform me upon entry rather than subjecting me to such dismissive behavior.
The interaction left me so frustrated that I chose to abandon my purchase entirely. It’s disheartening to see a business I once relied on condone such unprofessional conduct. Customer service is the backbone of any retail establishment, and this incident reflects poorly on both the employee and the management’s standards. I hope this serves as a reminder to treat patrons with basic courtesy, regardless of the hour.
Good selection but staff was not super helpful. I was looking for something to buy as a gift and was standing around looking for like 10 minutes on my own and no one came over. Only go here if you know what you're going in for already
I am a regular here for wine and the people here are always so kind, humble, and funny. I am always greeted as soon as I walk in and my favorite wine is always chilled for me. They also offer me to try new wines which I like. They feel like family to the neighborhood.
I have lived in Astoria for 5 years and I never knew how wonderful this store was until now! They have a beautiful selection of organic wines and craft spirits. Moreover, the sales team is exceptional and they made tons of great recommendations! What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
