Mike Desmond's Music

I have been studying guitar and music for over 5 years with Mike, first in-person then through Zoom sessions..  He is not just an outstanding guitar instructor but a total music teacher as well.  I have acquired a new knowledge of music through Mike's help. We worked initially on acoustic, then electric guitar skill building as well as bass guitar.  Mike taught me the fundamentals of songwriting and introduced me to home recording best practices, provides feedback on the quality of my tracks, performs and manages the mixing and mastering of my songs.  Mike Desmond is a true professional and teaches you excellence in guitar and music.

Mike was the perfect fit for my teenage son. (we've had several music teachers and a good fit is not easy to accomplish!). We first found Mike in order to prepare for a music audition for college. My son met with him through Zoom lessons, which was so convenient and just as effective as in person lessons. Mike was able to quickly assess his areas of need and they began working. After the audition was over my son wanted to continue taking lessons with Mike. Mike is positive, encouraging and acted as a mentor to my son who has grown so much. I highly recommend Mike to anyone. He is easy to talk to and really cares about his students!

Mike is an excellent instructor. My boys have yet to meet him physically, but that makes no difference at tall to the connection they have form and his level of commitment to the kids (ages 12 & 15). We have been with Mike for over 2 years and will remain!

I have been studying with Mike for 9 years now, and it is safe to say that he is one of the best guitar/bass teachers in the Westchester area. Because of him I found out that music is my passion and life and am attending the Berklee College of Music this coming fall. I highly recommend giving him a call if you are interested in picking up the guitar, you wont regret it.
