Very nice open space dog run with a small beach area.
Such a great big area with a little beach area for your pup! I have brought my dog here a few times and every time she makes great friends!!
The park is at the end of Roe Avenue. There's two chain link gates to walk through, that must be kept secure so no dogs can run out.
There's a long walk through sand from the gates. I suggest a beach buggy or the like if you plan on carrying anything of weight in.
There are some patio chairs that I imagine have been left from previous visitors for you to use, but less than 10 that I could count, and one bench.
The water is calm and pretty clean. The shore is covered with little stones, with the occasional dead crab and loads of shells. I found walking without water shoes or similar, pretty tough.
Everyone was friendly and the dogs all had fun together.
Two points of concern. Both on either end of the shore. To the right, the chain link fence does not completely keep the area enclosed, so a dog could run around it and through the shrubs or even towards Domino's Yacht Club. And to the left, what appears to be an old decrepit fishing pier with lots of rotting timber and rusty spikes. Be very careful. It's one of the reasons I didn't give the park 5 stars.
The others were the absence of any structured facility to shade you and your dog from the sun, and a restroom.
Overall a good place to spend an hour or two at the most with your dog.
Great spot for dogs on the beach. I gets pretty busy in the summer time. Half of the area is fenced off the other side is ocean or wetlands. Dogs can be off leash - bring poo bags though!
We visited Mud Creek Dog Park in Patchogue with our three dogs—our own and my parents' two dogs—along with my mom and fiancée. We arrived around 9:30 am, and while there weren't many people there initially, the park filled up by the time we left at 11:30 am. It was a great time for all the dogs.
The park has a fenced-off area where you can let your dogs off the leash to swim and play together. Our dogs had an amazing time interacting with other dogs and enjoying the water. However, there are a few things to be aware of. The sand is quite rocky, and there's a lot of seaweed in the water, though it lessens if you go further in. Additionally, we encountered a lot of horse flies, which were quite a nuisance.
Overall, despite these minor issues, it was a fun outing for our dogs.
