Very nice place to walk thru and see some animals that have been rescued. Only pay for parking about $4 an hour. No admittance fee. Takes about 20-30 minutes to walk thru. Really nice for the kids

We love visiting the Holtsville Ecology Center and often use it as part of our homeschool experience. Being September, we did not utilize the pool area. We ride bikes as a family often on the long exercise path. The indoor plant area is wonderful for seeing so many different types of plant life up close, and the wide variety of animals always makes it a fun and educational trip. The staff are very knowledgeable and clearly care for the animals.

The playground is nice with plenty of seating for parents, and the covered picnic tables are a huge plus—we love having picnics there while the kids play nearby and burn off energy. The grounds are also very clean, which we really appreciate.

The one downside is the bathrooms near the playground. They are consistently unpleasant, and since most kids need to use the restroom while playing, it’s inconvenient to have to walk all the way back by the animal area to find a better bathroom.

Overall, it’s a fantastic place for families, especially for those who enjoy learning and spending time outdoors, but I do hope the bathroom situation by the playground improves.

This is a fun place for kids in general to keep them busy for an hour or two. They have a small zoo (a mix of wild and farm animals), playground, picnic tables, garden center, restrooms and hiking trail.

Its free if you are town of brookhaven permit holder otherwise need to pay meter parking. Donations are appreciated. It has plenty of parking. Zoo is relatively small and animal exhibits are close to each other so walking is comfortable. Animals looked cared for.

Plenty of picnic tables, big playground with benches, good amount of shade. Overall a great place.

Such a great place! Free, but you can give a donation.
The animals were so incredible. A mix between exotic and barnyard.
    Fun for kids and adults.
Lots of parking and there's also a playground and hiking trails.
Go check it all out. You won't regret it .

This was orchestrated quite well. Plenty of parking and easy access to the main entrance. Check in process is best if you prepay for tickets. Don't waste time waiting in line to buy tickets in person. The display is tasteful and great variety with different rooms. Outdoor decorations were nice as you exit or take outdoor pictures. Money from pictures which is optional helps support the animals onsite.
