This place is great. It is pretty much halfway between our home in MD and our go-to place in NH. At this time of the year the campground is quiet and peaceful. My site was large, and some are absolutely huge. The staff is always friendly and the store is well stocked with everything you need. My only negatives are that some of the turns are tight in the campground loop, and tree limbs need to be trimmed back. The other is that there is no signage out at Rt. 32, so as you approach you will need to pay attention to find the little road sign. Other than those two things, we can't wait to visit again.

So greatful to have this KOA accommodate us and at such short notice! We have friends who stay at KOA campgrounds all the time in our field of work we had yet to try it. To clarify we are a straight truck that has a custom built sleeper. On the weekdays we are freight expeditors on the weekends we find places to camp out and explore. Typically we stick to truck stops ( not our favorite) or find somewhere to hide. We were thrown a little bit of a curve ball this weekend, our generator went out. No one could get us in until the following week, not to mention our generator is starting to become a thing of the past. So what were we going to do?! Most certainly wasn't going to sit there and slow roast ourselves into pure misery. We called the KOA Newburgh and went over specs of our truck, which do not exceed what a large RV would be and they were so nice and quick to give us a answer if they were able to accommodate us. We were able to get in no problems and everyone was so kind and helpful. Beautiful spaces nestled in the woods, showers available, store with all your needs, wine store with delicious local wine, and a few trails for your furry friends. We had a great time, Extremely appreciative we had this option and hopeful we get more opportunities to stay at KOA's more. Thank you KOA Newburgh 💖

My family and I hardly ever get to take a vacation away from home. This place literally is 10 minutes or less from our home. The weekend we went it actually stormed really bad. I wish we booked it a different weekend because we used a tent site so at night we went back home. None of that is anyone's fault. The place itself was beautiful and staff very friendly. Even though it stormed the whole time we made the best of it especially with the pool lol. The Gift shop is great there too. Just prices were a lot for what we did get and tried to have that weekend. We also had my niece visiting from Florida with us too so we were still happy and wasn't gonna let the weather let us down at all! The kid's had fun in-between the multiple storms and made memories to last a lifetime. Next time we go I think if possible we will book a cabin. They were very cute from the outside 😍 and we would've stayed the whole time instead of going back and forth from my home to KOA. Side not I hate camping and afraid of bears however, here I felt safe. Thank you for that and the memories you gave my family and me.

5 stars if your looking for a family vacation.
Lots of activities when we stayed in a August Saturday night. It’s wooded and social and was full of happy families. Diverse combination of tents, camper vans, and travel trailers. The layout is winding and wooded which is pleasant. They rent bikes for kids of all ages. It was well maintained and felt safe.
We choose this location because we didn’t want to drive through NYC 95 and it’s a convenient stop on our route and looked nice.
Not recommended for larger RVs or 5th wheels (it’s just not big enough spots). Live music entertainment was excellent but the sound does carry through the campground and so does any late night fun by fellow campers. Not recommended for people who want a quieter experience. When we checked in they highlighted the after hours phone number to call for anything and it felt like they would be responsive. Spaces are close lo level but we can’t recommend this campground to beginner RVers who are timid about parking. It’s nice that the layout is winding and staggered instead of straight lines but every window view is still another camper.
The tents, cabins, and RVs are all mixed together which created a community atmosphere. Very friendly and relaxed. A great place to spend a week vacation with the family. There’s plenty to do on site.
Highly recommend driving to Poughkeepsie to the Walk Over the Hudson bridge and taking the glass elevator.
