I'm on over the road driver and I had time to kill and decided. I wanted to go for a walk. I found this place on Google Maps. The park was clean and had just about everything from baseball fields, basketball courts,handball/racketball courts,a little dog park,a swimming pool,a playground for kids a walking track, and if I'm not mistaken a soccer field,it's right off the water but you can't get to the water at the park but the smell of an ocean breeze was definitely refreshing. I go to the area often and I will visit the park again
I went at 1am and honestly it was pretty nice and relaxing, only saw 3 ppl total and a robbery.
Note: there was a robbery of a girls purse and she came to us to ask for help and we guided her to the police station (not sure what we could do at 1am)
Pro tip: a lot of parking during night but please bring a knife or any type of self defense and do not come alone. At least have a party, during night time it is not safe.
It has literally been years since I last visited this beach. I used to always come here before I discovered the Jersey Shore. I always liked coming to this beach. It was always well maintained, and the sand was clean. I happened to come here on a Friday morning, and it was surprisingly quiet, which I prefer. I purchased my daily pass online for $15 + a fee (which is pretty steep), and I showed it to the nice young man at the booth. The boardwalk is nice for walking and bicycling, but there are really no food options, and the restrooms are far apart in distance. There is plenty of free street parking that is close to the boardwalk, which is a major plus. I will be sure to visit again in the future if I don't feel like driving to NJ for a beach day.
First time visit and loved it. Truly a hidden gem not many people know about. It was clean, the bathrooms were stocked and the restaurant had everything you can choose from. Our trip itinerary was visiting Block Island while staying in New London, CT and took the ferry from there.
If you ever need a place to clear your mind this a great place to go to , my wife likes to be near the water to relax. The sun rise and sunsets 🌅 are beautiful. They have a boardwalk that you can walk or rent a bike 🚲 and just lose yourself in thought. There is a restaurant that seasonally open but we haven’t not tried yet. The best Dominicans have not discovered this place and brought over speakers to blast music . I really enjoy this place.
