I met John Patino at the Annapolis Sailboat Show. Even though his shop is located in NY, he was at my sailboat in Maryland more often than local canvas shops I have worked with. He also got the job done faster than local shops. The cover he made for my 41ft boat fit like a glove, was well constructed, and fairly priced. I highly recommend Patino Canvas.
Either near or far, John Patino delivers. My wife and I first met John at the Annapolis Boat Show in October 2024. Though we were skeptical at first because of his home location in New York and his great price, he never raised any “red flags” for us no matter how hard we looked. He answered all our questions prior to signing a contract and kept us informed through delivery.
When it was time to install the cover, John gave a personal touch by installing it himself while explaining the process in detail to make sure we were comfortable for years to follow. The cover was a great fit and custom to the square inch.
Our Nimbus 365 Coupe experienced high winds over the winter and our mast bag got torn. No worries as Patino Canvas had my back and is resolving the problem.
We definitely recommend Patino Canvas even if you aren’t local to him in New York. He has no problems delivering a great product and providing quality service even in Annapolis, Maryland.

Patino Canvas just completed a cover for my 42’ Grand Banks. As I expected, the workmanship and attention to detail was remarkable. The large metal framing system affords ample room under the cover for those of us who work in our boats during the winter.

I used John on several projects over the last few years. A couple of years ago he replaced all the canvas on my boat and this past summer, put all new carpet in the cockpit of my boat.
