I just got back from Cottage in the Pines and it’s by far the best experience I had upstate and in B&B in general.
Julia is amazing innkeeper that went beyond for us to have a great stay.
I live in NYC and my mom came to visit me and we were looking for something not too far from the city for the relaxed weekend in nature. And it was way better that I could ever dream. Julia was amazing with communication even before our arrival and made sure the room was ready.
We stayed in main house in honeymoon suit and it was breathtaking, it was super clean which is very important to me and very comfortable with all the little details, the view was incredible with pond on the backyard and mountains on the back.
We did hiking right from the backyard of cottage which was great to get out at any time. Kayaking was also fun and available at anytime. Many hiking trails are near by and cute town.
I felt so relaxed after and it made me very inspired and Motivated after this short weekend.
The breakfast was to die for! Literary the best banana bread that I ever had in my life, Julia also asked about dietary restrictions ahead of time and delivered on 1000%.
If you ever have a chance to go there and feel you need a break from busy routine I wouldn’t find a better place.

Can’t wait to come back to Cottage on the Pines cause I miss it so much already!!!!

Staying here was a wonderful experience...Julia was so very helpful in booking our dinner reservations just across the border in PA at Two Rivers Grill which was excellent! We had trouble with GPS so Julia printed us directions to the new resort casino in Monticello. Both the cottage and the main house were both exquisitely decorated with beautiful old wood charm, furnishings and decor. Our breakfast was wonderful with scrambled eggs, bacon, lox and bagels and a delicious homemade pecan crumb coffee cake and blueberry scones! The property was scenic and expansive with a pond, a stream, waterwheel, barns and flower gardens! We saw a mama bear and cub strolling through the woods behind the cottage. There were hammocks and a firepit on the back lawn overlooking the pond. The rustic front porch had a top of the line smoker, rocking chairs, and the cozy back porch had tables for dining outdoors. Thanks to lovely Julia...you made our stay simply wonderful! We definitely look forward to coming back for a stay and next time I'll bring my fishing pole!

We spent this past Friday night at the Cottage in the Pines on our way to New York City. First, let me say that Julia was wonderful! She made us feel at home and was incredibly kind. We stayed in the bungalow in the Sparrow room. The entire bungalow was spotless and inviting. Our room was so sweet and peaceful with a view to the pond at the back of the property. The bathroom was impeccable. There is nothing negative I can say about our stay and we plan to return.

We had our elopement weekend here with just family and it was everything we could hope for. Lynn was absolutely incredible. She listened to everything we wanted and absolutely delivered.
She gave me great contacts for flowers, cake, catering, officiant, and even someone to help with the decorations. Everything was simply done with a beautiful vintage touch.
The caterer was professional, warm, and accessible. She took the time to carefully plan our courses and make sure they matched our style. They made fresh and local dishes that were delicious.
The bed and breakfast itself is a newly renovated Victorian and is beautifully decorated. The porches overlook a small lake with bridge and waterfall which is adjacent to a rustic barn. The whole setting made for some stunning photographs. You can check out some pictures on my facebook profile.
We rented out the whole bed and breakfast and it was a wonderful relaxing weekend. We will definitely be going back in the future. A true 10/10.
